About This Course

You do not need to be a programmer to build AI-powered applications. The no-code and low-code revolution has made it possible for anyone to create functional AI apps, chatbots, and automation workflows — and in this course, you will build one yourself.

Across three sessions, you will go from zero to a working AI application. We start with no-code platforms where you can build by pointing and clicking, progress to low-code tools that give you more power and flexibility, and finish with you deploying a real application that solves a problem you care about.

This course bridges the gap between using AI tools and building with AI tools. It is the on-ramp to the more technical courses in the Builder track.

Hands-on: Build a custom AI chatbot in 30 minutes — choose your own use case
Adding a knowledge base: feeding your chatbot documents, websites, and FAQs
Customizing personality, tone, and behavior rules

Session 2: Automation and Integration

Beyond chatbots: automation workflows that use AI as a brain
Introduction to Zapier AI and Make.com: connecting apps with AI logic
Hands-on: Build an automation — e.g. email arrives, AI summarizes it, posts to Slack
Multi-step AI workflows: chaining tasks together
Working with APIs at a conceptual level — no coding required
Data sources: connecting AI to spreadsheets, databases, and forms
Error handling: what to do when your automation breaks

Session 3: Your Capstone Project

Planning your capstone: choose a real problem to solve with an AI app
Design session: map out your application's features and workflow
Build time: 45 minutes of guided building with instructor support
Testing and refinement: try to break your own creation and fix it
Deployment: make your application accessible to others
Demo time: show the class what you built

Prerequisites

No coding experience required. Basic comfort with web applications and willingness to experiment. Completing at least one Foundations track course is recommended for AI context.

A laptop with internet access — not a tablet for this course, as we will be using web-based development platforms. Please create a free account on Zapier.com before the first session. Additional platform accounts will be created during class.
